Different Perspective to Mumbai Terror Attacks

Well...we all had our share of television feeds from infinite news channels. Maybe at the time of watching them nobody would have the time to introspect and retrospect about the main root cause of the situation you, me and the whole of India is facing. But god willing and by his blessing our security forces managed to neutralise the whole issue with minimal collateral damage.

We enjoy hurling the most dastardly abuses to the politicians....we do it...but then..what after that???..we wait and what we'll be doing come Jan-Feb...we will be voting for the better of 2 impotent set of people who have neither shown any preempt or vision to address the biggest issue we've faced post independence.

We have seen in the past, a single entity holding different portfolios...be it Sports Ministry, Defence, Petroleum etc etc...you name it. What signals are these parties sending to the common man...and even more..why have we never questioned this approach???

Logic says...the best man in the team gets the job. The "best" man...yes...in ability...in vision...in skills....in every aspect pertaining to the trade. Do we think the thumb rule is followed? Let's take an example of our Defence Minister....in the whole siege...I couldn't see or hear any statements or briefing from his side. What can you really excpect from some one who faints while taking a flag march and has to be taken away in the arms of the security officers??

I am trying my best not to throw brick bats at the politicians....really..I am trying my best...because it's a result of my and India's discretion...that we chose this set of people to be in power...to manage our homeland....so..I have to do some introspect when it comes to cutting them in half.

As we say in sports....'The captain is as good as his team', yes...this shows that you and me have got leaders which are a superlative form of our inner deamons. How can I expect a physio in a cricket team to brief the fielders and bowlers as to how to make a strategy against a hard hitting batsman..and how to counteract his assault on the field?? The captain and senior players need to do this...on similar lines..how can I have someone who has never seen combat situation in his life other than hollywood/bollywood movies, manage my homeland securities and expect him to be proactive to take relavent measures. All I can hope and pray is that he is surrounded by able advisors to guide him...rather than make him change the whole situation to a banana republic.

Best man for the job....yes..best man for the job is the need of the hour...Finally...plss..finally can we have someone from the fraternity stand up and raise his hand to accept responsibility...to give direction and vision to specific portfolios. Trust me it would be worthwhile for that someone to take a chance in his/her life and jump into this whole situation and maneuver the rest.

Portfolios like Defence which include homeland security need to be handled by people who have seen combat situation and know the intercrecies of it. Let's involve the retired colonels and brigadiers in a more proctive way rather than making them shy away just for the fear of facing red tapism.

Lets display the message loud and clear to the bunch of jokers who have come forward claiming that they can manage us, that if the wrong man is given the job....be it because of their inability to say no to their alliance parties...or for any other reason. Whoever gets the job...I care less....Congress....BJP....Left...Right.....he/she should be the BEST for the job...because I am securing myself..my family...my countrymen...with them for that specific tenure.

Let the message get across that if it's not done...they will see the repercussions either through the mandate...or worst situation..through a civil outrage.

Now, having finished writing this..I can start the stopwatch to measure how long does it take for all of us..to come back to our old ways...

The poor of the country have been giving their lives in trains....railway stations....bhepuri shops....gardens...parks....Nowwwww...when the elite and the who's who of the country has been hit below the belt...I want to see how the government responds....how the might of the corporate world shepards the men in power to take the neccessary steps.

Maybe the terrorists in the most ironical way have opened the doors for some reforms to happen in our society. This also..I hope...happens sooner rather than later.

I can still see the glimpse of the division in society which prevails....The rescued people from the Taj have been shooed away in Aircon buses, while after the operation is over the NSG guys were shown to proceed to BEST buses....thristy...hungry....and gasping for breath. It was heartening to see one of the bystanders handing over a glucose biscuit packet to one of the commandos...and he immediately opening it and sharing it with his comrades.

But...Still....I hope with fingers crossed....and my heart wants to give Bombay and India another chance to prove itself. Having travelled fair part of the world and interacted with different people I can easily summaries that the Indian spirit rises everytime it gets challenged and we are the most practical people when it comes to everyday life.

All i request my fellow country men...pls...respect life...pls respect our security forces..not just on 15th and 26th....When a poor bhelpuri waala dies....when a cab driver gets hit by splinter...he feels the same pain like the MD of any company or an eilte doctor.

Please make correct discretions and diffrentiations rather than based on caste..religion...money...stature...

Last but not the least...my heart goes out to my new heroes....Hemant Karkare...Salaskar...Ashok Kamte...Sandeep and SIngh..

I am Team leader of my department in our company and Mr. Karkare in his death has shown new insights of the concept of Managing and leading a team....By example....by action....by virtue...I had tears in my eyes when he was getting cremated and his subordinates and people who knew him personally recounting his personality.

I had been closely following his progress in the Malegoan issue and would tell my freinds....after a long time we've seen some one from the security forces who is conducting an unbiased and professional job. My lifelong respect to him and all the other braves who saved the day for India. For sure..whenever I will face an adversity in life...After the almighty...i would look to Mr. Karkare to get inspired and motivated.

May the Almighty help me and you and India to overcome this huge loss and reform ourselves for the better.
